Let's go on an adventure. I love to photograph the overlooked details of the moment because the small things do matter. From an engraving on a ring, to the fog covered streets of Edinburgh, to a mere seconds break in the clouds.. I love capturing the moments that might otherwise be forgotten.
Remember in high school when the guidance counsellor asks "What do you want to be when you grow up?". I always thought that I would be an digital animator. The very first Toy Story movie is what did it for me. I loved how every aspect of the movie was created from a simple drawing. The only downside was that I could hardly draw. I tried and tried and tried, but my drawings always lagged behind my digital creations. I never once thought that I would be a photographer... well, maybe that isn't the most accurate of statements. I always thought I would be doing something creative, whether it be with computers, or drawing. Photography was an after thought at the time.
As it so happened, I did go into computers, only it was for Network Engineering rather than Design. I had a niche for being able to fix computers and so I built on that. Right after college I moved to Edmonton, had a job in technical support (because all networking companies required "experience"), and found some roommates to keep rent low. Turns out not knowing many people makes for a new city to be rather dull, to add to that my roommates went out of their way to ditch me on numerous occasions. That Christmas is when everything turned around. I was given my very first DSLR camera and with that a reason to explore, and I haven't stopped since.
The greatest thing about my work is that I'm always finding new subjects and developing new styles and techniques. I am constantly looking to collaborate on different ideas, and looking to shoot new subjects or styles. I never want to limit the possibilities that each photo-shoot may bring, and love sharing this with my clients.
Thank you for allowing me to share my work with you. If you have any questions or wish to collaborate on a photo-shoot idea, please let me know. I look forward to sharing more work with the world.
