Most of Old San Juan is dedicated a National Historic Site - for good reason. Ever since the Spanish Rule in 1539, this part of the city, which includes two forts and an array of municipal buildings, still holds all of it's cultural value. While much of the rest of the city has deteriorated due to economic conditions, there is still much beauty to be found as you can see from these photos.
